Noche Estrellada is an antique and coffee shop meant to be a safe and communal space for people from all walks of life. My design work for this unique shop was inspired by the inclusivity and diversity that runs deep in Noche Estrellada's roots. I wanted the personality of the brand to speak confidently and loudly. A diverse color system with organic shapes and fun imagery all come together to become Noche Estrellada.
Behind Noche Estrellada's doors, antique store meets coffee shop - such a bold choice had to be met with an even bolder identity. The story behind the fun and colorful patterns and characters owes credit to the principle of the impressionist brush stroke.
Noche Estrellada is Spanish for "Starry Night", alluding to Vincent Van Gogh's famous impressionist painting. Everything from the logo to the patterns to the character's themselves, embodies the principle of the impressionist brush stroke: quick, short bursts of color that come together to create a beautiful picture.
This brand is your new best friend, the big sibling you never had, your biggest cheerleader. Your unique personality is the center of attention at Noche Estrellada and they'll make sure you know that when you walk in the door, while you're purchasing one of their cool antiques, and after you pick up the cup of coffee you ordered.
The communal space is welcome to all and I exemplified this through using neutral elements and colors throughout my design process. The messaging was carefully curated to engage someone from any walk of life, sporting a hip yet neutral tone.
