01 Branding

02 Logo Design

03 Visual Identity

04 Illustration

The History of Food Podcast by Anthrochef provides a unique perspective on the history of food and how it evolved us as humans. He often says that "food makes us human" and that very idea is what inspired the visuals I created for this rebrand. I carefully designed a visual system that exemplified the personality of the brand. Implementing a color palette, language system, and visual elements that spoke to the essence of this podcast was vital to making the visual system successful.

This podcast has such a strong personality coming from the episodes themselves that just wasn't finding itself in the visual identity of the brand. What was working visually, however, were the images taken for social media and the recipe blog on their website. I wanted to harness the richness and freshness from these images and exemplify them through my design work.

Although it was photography that inspired my ideas, I decided to go forward with an illustrative style rather than photographic. I felt that through the use of organic colors and shapes, I could successfully bring out that fresh earthiness that was so inspiring.

Furthermore, I incorporated a messaging system to really tie the personality of the brand together. "Let's get rooted in". This catchphrase and others like it will be used throughout the branding to tell this podcast's story.
